For
Men selve fødslen
Now the birth has taken place. She only had 3 puppies. We waited and waited, but after 6.46 p.m. no more puppies arrived.
And the mother didn’t seem to mind. We were in contact with our veterinarian most of the evening, and late in the evening Laurits drove to the vet, who injected her with labor-forcing medicine – but there really WERE NO MORE puppies. The vet thinks
that the reason she was so thick and heavy was that she carried a lot of water. This we could confirm, because we had to change towels all the time. Just to be on the safe side, we had her scanned, although the vet was certain that there were no more puppies.
But the actual birth was without any drama or complications at all – all was normal, and GINA was very calm and very good. However, we were a little concerned, this being her first birth.
The 3 puppies arrived at exactly 3.25 and 3.37 and 6.46 p.m. We believe that we have 2 females and 1 male, but we shall make a thorough inspection later today.
GINA has had
food in bed, as Danish Swedish Farmdogs never leave the babies the first couple of days. So consequently food in bed and to be carried into the garden to do the business.
